Kips Bay Show House is fantastic this year. As always, some of the best in the biz remind that it’s the details that make a room. My favorite was Charlotte Moss’s master bedroom, above. Perfection with digitally printed Delft tiles on the baseboard and signature Moss touches like leather bound books (these hold her press clippings.)
Go see it! It’s at The Aldyn and running through June 14th.

A little behind on this, thanks to this little guy, but I had a ball working with the New York Design Center ladies and the Access to Design designers styling the NYDC table for this year’s DIFFA Dining by Design. We decided to do something a little off the wall and ended up with a crazy glamorous haunted mansion and “invited” some pretty fabulous guests (Alexander McQueen, Michael Jackson (with Bubbles), Liz Taylor, Coco Chanel and Steve Jobs to name a few). “Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner” was the theme. Some pics:

The booth coming together.

I wallpapered the floor with a Cole & Son gold and purple damask.

Lots to unpack. You can see here one of my favorite elements: Tucker Robbins’ Snookawookas. They added just the right amount of high-class creepy.

This was the most fun centerpiece to do. Succulents and moss mixed with a cloche and other accessories from Arteriors.

The skull in the center really was my favorite bit.

Finished booth.

I had the ceiling cut to look like spider webs.

That’s Cleopatra and Alexander McQueen’s place settings.

Andy Warhol

Emilio Pucci

Loved all the different chairs.

Gypsie Rose Lee

Liz Taylor

Michael Jackson. (You can see a glimpse of Bubbles.)

Me with the fabulous Leah Blank of NYDC at DIFFA cocktails.

Curbed also had some nice coverage of the event (including a who’s who of the attendees.)

Work in Progress

Kremelife paper (found at one of my favorites Studio Four) finally going up in the bed nook in a Brooklyn project. (Next up: purple walls and a surprise ceiling treatment).

Benjamin Moore’s Bunny Gray and Million Dollar Red on walls—waiting for the built-ins to cover most of that red wall.

Inside front door gets red treatment too (and new bench for shoe storage).

Nightwood

Just discovered Nightwood and loving their one-of-a-kind deconstructed furniture and textiles. Everything is handmade in Brooklyn (and the textiles are made in the back room of their adorable store front in Williamsburg).

PS 82 desk

Bell jar sconce

Alcove shelf

LOVE these Neptune chairs.

Best NYC apartment desk: the slim Neptune desk.
